PPM
Power Type
Click: Any power that activates on click and immediately goes on cool down is a "click" power. This includes powers that leave a residual effect like frostwork, dull pain, weaken, etc.
Toggle: Any power that activates and stays "on" for ANY duration is a toggle type power. Auto: Any power that is always on and does not require activation is an auto type power. The game calculates these as "single-target" toggles. NOTES
Radius
Arc
Similar to Radius, all single target powers also have an arc: 0. If it is not a single target power, the arc should be plainly listed in the power details. Sphere powers are "360" while cones are somewhere in between. Base Recharge Time
This is BASE RECHARGE TIME, which means it does not include global bonuses like hasten.
To find this, simply right click the power in your tray (or in the enhancment screen) and select "info". The base recharge time, including enhancements and incarnate alpha, will be included in the power's detail section while global bonuses will not. YES: Recharge reduction very much affects proc chance in "Click" type powers. Activation Time
This applies to ALL power types. This is the time required to execute the power. This should be listed under the power's details. Toggle and Auto type powers are hard-set to 10s and proc at the same interval. Interpreting Results
A percentage higher than 100% is possible in the calculator. Be advised: this is NOT possible in-game! The highest and lowest percentages allowed in-game are listed as "Maximum Probability" and "Minimum Probability." I left it this way because I find it useful to know just how far over/under "optimal" you've gone. Click: The percentage represents chance for proc per mob. For example, a 50% proc chance on a click power that hits 16 enemies rolls for each enemy independently at 50% chance. Toggle and Auto: interpreted as an independent chance per target at a 10s interval. For example, a 5% chance means that every 10s that the power is active, each target has a 5% chance to be affected by the proc. Maximum Probability: This is always 90%. This is the highest rate allowed in game for any proc. For example, if your calculated proc rate is 95%, you will still experience a 90% proc rate in-game because this is the maximum allowed rate. Minimum Probability: This is a calculated value based on PPM only. Each proc is prevented from calculating a lower chance than the minimum probability in-game. For example, if the calculated proc rate is 2% and the Minimum Probability is 10%, then you will experience 10% in-game because the calculated probability is lower than the minimum allowed for that PPM value. I leave you to decide what is appropriate for your build, I'm just providing the math. |
